Letter: Show respect on Memorial Day

Posted

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

It is only a few days until Memorial Day, a day to remember. Please show some respect to the military members past and present by doing something other than enjoying a picnic or a day off. Please attend a ceremony that is set up by the veterans in your area.

There is a lot of time and respect dedicated to these events. I hope this year to see many children at the parades getting educated on the protocol of the flag as it passes. Stand, salute or put a hand over your heart. Veterans, teach others by your actions, not just words!

Serving your country is a privilege; living in this country is a bigger privilege. Remember, we still have our people serving this country in harm’s way!
