Letter: Slant is apparent on Mideast stories

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

The Berkshire Eagle recently reported the story of three Israeli youths being abducted and as it turned out shot 10 times by Palestinians. Their bodies were later found. This article appeared in a very small column in the body of the first section.

Days later, I opened my Eagle to find front page headlines on the horrible death of a Palestinian youth. Prime Min-
ister Netanyahu immediately sent out a special force and arrested six radical Israelis who are accused of this terrible act.

There is no excuse for either of these acts, but is an almost hidden column equal to a front page headline? I think not. Is this fair reporting? I think not. Please try harder to gear your reporting toward fair, equal and non-partisan publication. That’s the democratic way.
