Letter: Spring luncheons a great success
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
For more than 20 years I have attended the "spring luncheons" at the First United Methodist Church on Fenn Street in Pittsfield. I enjoy homemade soup, sandwich, and pie for a modest donation.
Friday, as I drove toward the church, I noticed that there was a widespread power outage in the area. I immediately feared that I would not be able to enjoy the planned luncheon. Upon arrival at the church I found that the emergency lighting was working properly, the coffee and soup were hot, and the raspberry pie was wonderful! There was also live music by a piano player who was playing in the dimly lit space.
Friday is the last of this year’s series. Congratulations to the folks at the First United Methodist Church on a job well done.
