Letter: The Mount is renewed jewel in Berkshires
The Mount is renewed jewel in Berkshires
To the editor:
The Mount, Edith and Teddy Wharton's Lenox home, is a treat for all attendees. The mansion and stables are aglow in new paint, the sculptures are unique (look for the mirrors set in the trees that a pileated woodpecker is dismantling), and the gardens are as attractive as ever. Visit the mansion for a sense of history and the new exhibits that fill every room.
Starting the first weekend in July, attend the concerts on the terrace Friday and Saturday nights (free). Food is available for purchase.
All of this is thanks to the dedicated director, Susan Wissler, who has not only retired the debt but has made the Mount, once again, a jewel in the Berkshires.
