Letter to the Editor: Why spend more on Common?

Posted
If $1.7 million got us a wall with a name plate that looks off- center, a "P" that looks strikingly similar to the one Pinterest uses and a playground hidden in the back corner that I have yet to see anyone using, why exactly are we throwing another $400,000 down the drain for this park at The Common?

No one used this park before and no one uses it now. Maybe we should use these funds to expand our skate park or build another one. That was one of the best investments this city has made for our youth. I rarely if ever see the skate park empty rain, snow or sunshine there is always someone there. I drive by regularly and have never seen any signs of misbehavior, fights or anything that would be deemed inappropriate not to mention it makes sitting at that stop light much more enjoyable.
