Letter: Too much to ask of district voters
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Many senior citizens in Great Barrington are already having trouble paying our present taxes and extra cost of living. Everything is going up quite a bit except for Social Security. Even the Community Preservation Act tax has gone up more.
Between an extra $500 in property taxes for the Monument Mountain High School renovation project, my sewer rates tripling, and my water bill going up, it is just too much at once.
Like most property and business owners, I plan ahead with repairs. Why hasn’t the Berkshire Regional School District done the same with the high school?
Vote "No" on Nov. 5 on the school project. Enough is enough.
