Letter: Trump's attacks a case of projection
Trump's attacks a case of projection
To the editor:
Shortly before the outbreak of World War II, one European leader described his opponent thusly: "For over five years this man has been chasing around Europe like a madman in search of something he can set on fire." This quotation was Hitler's description of Churchill and it was in a psychology book as an example of "projection," a condition of the ego in which one projects one's "dark side" onto another.
So I read Donald Trump's comments Aug. 6 concerning Hillary Clinton with that in mind. To wit: S(he) is a dangerous liar — an unbalanced person — pretty close to unhinged — totally unfit to lead — lacking the judgment, temperament and moral character to lead this country — a monster.
Let's hope that the American people understand what he is saying, because he surely doesn't.
