Letter: Two top board candidates in Peru
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
Peru has a great opportunity to elect new town officials by voting on Saturday. Two outstanding candidates are running for the Select Board.
Bonny DiTomasso is running for the three-year position. Bonny brings a wealth of knowledge with 32 years of managerial experience, as well as a degree in government, and has taken the Massachusetts state ethics training. She will also work to obtain funds for the Council on Aging to take care of our elderly with much-needed services.
Kevin Cahill is running for the one-year position. Kevin brings a vast range of experience, with a very strong IT background. Kevin is, and has been, on the senior management team for multiple companies with revenues in the hundreds of millions of dollars annually.
Both of these candidates want to create a town website for the townspeople to get information quickly. Kevin will volunteer to get the website up and running. Bonny and Kevin feel that the public should have a voice at the Select Board meetings, and plan to reinstate that as soon as elected.
Great leaders are only great when they listen to the townspeople that they represent. Bonny and Kevin are able to write grants and are capable of multi-tasking in an efficient manner. They plan to be fiscally responsible by using a conservative approach to benefit the taxpayers. Bonny and Kevin will work to improve Peru by diversifying our tax base and improving property values in ways that benefit everyone.
Peru voters please use this opportunity on June 14 and vote for these two well qualified Select Board Candidates, Bonny DiTomasso and Kevin Cahill.
