Letter: Undo an injustice in Hinsdale

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

Hinsdale’s annual town meeting will be held on Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Kittredge School. We would appreciate your support for Article 46. The passage of this article would overrule the Select Board’s dismissal of Bruce Stetson from his previous position at the transfer station, and reappoint him to this position.

The spreading of vile rumors designed to harm a person’s character is something that politicians do to hurt their opponent. It has no place in a situation such as this. Misrepresenting the facts only goes to show the true character of the people who choose to make such statements.

Thank you, Sandra Page, for working to put this article on the town warrant. Thank you to Selectman Bruce Marshall. Your steadfast willingness to listen and your determination to help your fellow citizens is something Hinsdale cannot afford to lose during these trying times. You have our vote on Election Day and we urge others to do the same.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to those of you who have been so very supportive of Bruce following his unjust termination. Your kind words, letters and support are what being a part of a community is all about. Our hope is that one day soon, everyone in Hinsdale will embrace this simple concept.

We look forward to seeing you at Town Meeting. This is your opportunity to be heard. Your support for Article 46 will send a clear message to the Hinsdale Select Board.

The letter was also signed by Bruce Stetson.
