Letter: Updated message for family seder

Posted

To the editor of THE EAGLE:

In the midst of this Passover season, there is much to expound upon involving the message of freedom from past bondage in Egypt. I decided that this is the year to update the message during my family seder.

It included the freedom to vote without standing for hours on your feet until you drop from exhaustion, the right to love and marry anyone you choose, the right of a woman to have control over her own body, the right to earn a decent hourly wage for a day’s work as well as the necessity for turning our swords and spears into plowshares and pruning hooks so as to have the freedom to be safe while learning in school or shopping at the mall.

By the looks on the children’s faces, I think they got it.
