Letter: Use national lotteries to bring down deficit
Use national lotteries to bring down deficit
To the editor:
There is a way to end the deficit without having to raise taxes, cut Social Security or Medicare, or other important needs of the people. It's called a lottery!
Why can't the federal government have its own lotteries where all taxes go directly toward the national deficit? People win $400 million Powerballs and half of that goes to the state. Why can't the feds make their own lottery that goes toward reducing the deficit? Make big prizes, make scratch tickets, everyone is happy, and we all win!
