Letter: Writers, own up to your prejudices
To the editor of THE EAGLE:
To all the self-styled Biblical authorities out there who continue to write letters to the editor expressing their disapproval of homosexuals: please do us all a favor by not hiding behind phrases such as ". . . the Bible [and/or Jesus] is very clear about [homosexuality/marriage /abortion/welfare/pick your topic]. . ."
Take responsibility for your own prejudices. You don’t like it that gay people can legally marry? OK, that’s your prerogative. But you don’t speak for Jesus. You can’t blame Him for you being on the wrong side of history.
