Library reading set for Town Players of Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD -- Town Players of Pittsfield, in conjunction with Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum, will present a staged reading of "Smudge," Thursday evening at 7 at the Berkshire Athenaeum, 1 Wendell Ave.

Admission is free but donations will be accepted. Suggested donation is $5.

Written by two-time Emmy Award winner Rachel Axler, this short one-act play is often described as a dark comedy about the changing face of the American family and the limits of love as a hopeful young couple gives birth to a smudge.

The production is directed by Michael P. Murphy. Cast members are Denise Roller, Dana Grieb, Ryan Cavenaugh and Matthew Barbas.

The play contains adult language and theme.
