Why not make tonight movie night?

Classic movie buffs, head to Mahaiwe Performing Arts Center for a screening of "The Hustler," 7 p.m., 14 Castle St., Great Barrington. Written by Sidney Carroll and Robert Rossen and directed by Robert Rossen, this 1961 drama stars Paul Newman as small-time pool hustler "Fast Eddie," and Jackie Gleason as Minnesota Fats, the champ he challenges to a high-stakes match. Tickets are $8. Join the Movie Club and get 10 tickets for $55, and plan on catching any of the other screenings they have planned: "Groundhog Day" on Feb. 1, "Casablanca" on Feb. 10, "Selma," on Feb. 15, "Alien" on March 1, and "A Night at the Opera" March 15.

Best-picture nominee "The Shape of Water" is playing at Images Cinema, 7 and 9:20 p.m. Starring Sally Hawkins, Octavia Spencer and Michael Shannon, this film also took home Oscar nominations for Best Actress, Best Supporting Actress, Best Director and Best Original Screenplay, among others. Grab the chance to see this on the big screen before the show. Images Cinema is located at 50 Spring St., Williamstown.
