Lions Club circus fundraiser running behind, official says
DALTON -- The Dalton Lions Club circus program, which relies on donations to buy tickets for underprivileged children and families, is running behind, according to a Lions official.
Dan McGinnis said only $3,200 has been raised to date in advance of this weekend's circus. The goal is $7,000. Last year, $6,100 was raised.
"For many families, this is the only entertainment attraction they will get to attend this summer," McGinnis said.
Donations are tax-deductible. Checks can be made out to Dalton Lions Charities and sent to P.O. Box 213, Dalton, MA 01227-0213.
Lions Club members will "gladly come to pick up any donations," McGinnis said.
