Little League baseball roundup: Adams advances in District 1 11/12 consolation bracket


ADAMS -- The hosts of the Little League Don Gleason District 1 11/12-year-old baseball tournament have advanced in the consolation bracket. Adams eliminated North Adams with a 7-5 win Monday.

Zach Swistak had a single and the go-ahead RBI for Adams, which meets Dalton-Hinsdale on Wednesday. Henry Sniezek added a double and an RBI, with Colby Rousseau and Zach Boulger contributing two hits each. Rousseau scored the go-ahead run, which made a winner of pitcher Spencer Valois. Casey Meczywor, Matt Jette and Valois had a single each.

For North Adams, Jared Blondin doubled and drove in two runs. Hunter Sarkis, Scott McGuire, Austin Davine and Ethan Howland had a single each for North Adams.

The winner of Wednesday's Adams-Dalton game meets the winner of today's game between Pittsfield Don Gleason North and Pittsfield Myron Gray West.

Little League 11s rained out

NORTH ADAMS -- The District 1 10/11 tournament was halted when storms hit the Berkshires on Monday. Don Gleason North and Pittsfield South will now meet at 5:30 p.m. today in North Adams.
