Local roundup: MCLA men's soccer falls in CIAO final

NORTH ADAMS — UMass-Boston won its fifth consecutive game to open the season as it claimed the CIAO Soccer Classic Championship with a 6-0 win over MCLA.

Ocane Williamson scored twice for the Beacons while goals within the first eight minutes from Arlindo Goncalves and Mohamed Kenawy paced UMass-Boston.

Matt Coakley and Gabriel Gomes-Pereir also scored for the Beacons. For MCLA (2-3), Kamron Anderson registered 11 saves.

WILLIAMS MEN 1, EASTERN CONNECTICUT STATE 0

WILLIAMSTOWN >> J.C. Bahr de Stefano's 68th minute goal was the difference for Williams against Eastern Connecticut State.

Sean Dory assisted for the Ephs (2-0) while Christian Alcorn produced a shutout in net.

For Eastern Connecticut State (1-3-1), Ryan Murphy recorded three saves.

WILLIAMS WOMEN 2, SKIDMORE 0

WILLIAMSTOWN >> Alison Lu and Nkem Iregbulem each scored unassisted goals for Williams in its victory.

Lu scored in the eighth minute, while Iregbulem netted her goal in the 82nd for the Ephs (3-0).

Olivia Barnhill earned the shutout for Williams while Alyssa Rollins had 10 saves for Skidmore (2-1).

H.S. Boys Soccer

MOUNT GREYLOCK 1, WEST SPRINGFIELD 1

WEST SPRINGFIELD >> Naka O'Connor scored for Mount Greylock as the Mounties played West Springfield to a tie on Saturday.

O'Connor's goal came in the 18th minute for the Mounties (1-0-1). But Tyler Alstede answered in the 28th minute for West Springfield.

For Mount Greylock, David Falk registered six saves.

Bella Arace recorded 16 saves for Pittsfield (0-1).
