Local sports roundup: Lenox boys soccer shuts out Gateway

HUNTINGTON — The Lenox boys soccer team hit the road Saturday night for a game at Gateway, and the Millionaires made the trip count with a 3-0 win.

Nic Baruch scored a pair of goals to power Lenox (4-1-1), while Mike Abdalla scored the second goal for Lenox.

Matt Tibbetts made three saves to record the shutout, and added an assist to Baruch on the team's third goal.

College Soccer

WILLIAMS WOMEN 1, RPI 0

WILLIAMSTOWN >> Alison Lu scored in the 57th minute to hand Williams a win over Rennselaer Polytechnic Institute on Sunday, pushing the Ephs to 5-0 on the year.

After the teams played a scoreless first half, Lu stepped up and converted on an unassisted effort to keep the Ephs undefeated on the year.

In goal, Olivia Barnhill made one save. Joey Lyons stopped six shots for RPI.

WILLIAMS MEN 1, BABSON 0

WILLIAMSTOWN >> The Williams men kept their undefeated start to the year going with a narrow win over visiting Babson.

Mohammed Rashid scored in the fourth minute, converting on a pass from David Madding for the only goal in the game.

Christian Alcorn stopped four shots for Williams. The Ephs improve to 4-0-1 on the year with the win.
