Man arrested for allegedly selling cocaine near Great Barrington skatepark


GREAT BARRINGTON -- A Canaan, Conn., man has been arrested by the Great Barrington Police and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force for allegedly selling cocaine near the town's skateboard park on Bridge Street.

According to Police Chief William R. Walsh, Zac A. Labshere, 20, of Allendale Road in Canaan was charged with one count each of cocaine distribution, cocaine possession and two counts of committing a drug violation near a park.

Labshere attempted to sell cocaine to an undercover police officer at about 2 p.m. on Monday. Police had made an earlier purchase of cocaine last week from Labshere at the same location.

Labshere is being held on $1,000 bail at the Great Barrington lockup. Members of the Lee Police Department also assisted in the arrest, as members of the drug task force.
