Man arrested for breaking into home of Pittsfield woman
PITTSFIELD -- A 20-year-old Pittsfield man who had allegedly been pursuing a female aquaintance online, broke into her home on North Street early Saturday morning and was arrested by Pittsfield police.
James Esperanza, of Williams Street, allegedly picked the lock of the woman's door and broke in at about 3:47 a.m. Esperanza had been trying to develop a relationship with the woman through Facebook chats, Pittsfield Sgt. Mark Trapani said.
The woman called police immediately after hearing Esperanza break in. Esperanza didn't make physical contact with the woman, Trapani said.
