Man charged with striking father with frying pan

PITTSFIELD-- A 44-year-old Pittsfield man was arrested on Sunday morning after allegedly hitting his father in the head with a frying pan.

Carlton Moore Jr., of Cromwell Avenue, was charged with assault and battery with a dangerous weapon against a person over the age of 60, according to Pittsfield Police Sgt. Michael Maddalena.

Pittsfield police responded to the residence of the men late Saturday night after receiving a call from the home, Maddalena said. Moore was not present at the time. His 65-year-old father had a bump on his head from being struck once in the head from the frying pan. He did not immediately seek hospitalization, Maddalena said.

At 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, police received another call that Moore had returned and was in the driveway at the residence, and arrested him.

Moore was schedule to be released from custody on Sunday on his own personal recognizance, pending a future court date, Maddalena said.
