Man convicted for using secret bathroom camera

WOBURN, MASS. >> A New Hampshire man has been convicted of secretly videotaping women in the bathroom of a Massachusetts restaurant.

A Middlesex County Superior Court jury on Thursday found Joseph Hennessey guilty of four counts of photographing or videotaping a person in a state of nudity.

Police arrested the 53-year-old Hennessey at the Kickstand Cafe in Arlington in 2014 after workers there reported a suspicious person. Arlington police found a miniature camera hidden in a flower basket directly in front of a toilet in the bathroom.

Hennessey, of Salem, New Hampshire, is scheduled to be sentenced on Sept. 26.

The Boston Globe reports that Hennessey's lawyer, Joseph B. Simons, says Hennessey is disappointed by the verdict and plans to appeal.
