BENNINGTON, Vt. (AP) -- Federal agents and local police are investigating the theft of 13 handguns during a smash-and-grab robbery at a gun store in Bennington, Vt.

Bennington Police Lt. Lloyd Dean says it took the suspect only 45 seconds to break the storefront window and to steal the guns, leading him to believe the man was familiar with the store.

The Bennington Banner (http://bit.ly/dEEmoB) says local investigators will be working with federal agents from the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives because more than 10 guns were stolen.

Dean says surveillance video from the store shows a male wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, black pants and gloves. The suspect was carrying a gray duffel bag.
