Man who allegedly threatened to "to shoot up" Roger Williams University in RI in court

DARTMOUTH (AP) - Police say they found several guns, and books about how to become a serial killer and make methamphetamine at the Massachusetts home of a former Roger Williams University Law School student charged with sending a threatening email to faculty and staff.

Kevin Pacheco is scheduled to be arraigned Thursday on charges including extortion and making threats. It could not immediately be determined if he had a lawyer.

The Rhode Island university says it received the email from a former student Tuesday morning. Police say the email included threats of violence.

The 36-year-old Pacheco was arrested at his Dartmouth, Mass., home after an eight-hour standoff with police. He was taken to a hospital for evaluation.

Police said two handguns and four rifles were found in the home as well as various medications.
