A Washington man had his bail revoked on two separate larceny cases on Friday following another arrest for similar charges.

Jonathan J. Delaney, 28, of South Washington State Road, Washington, was arraigned in Central Berkshire District Court on Friday on one felony count of larceny. Delaney already had two open cases in district court with a combined 23 counts of misdemeanor and felony larceny and was ordered held without bail at the Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction.

The latest charges against Delaney stem from an alleged theft on Feb. 1 from his sister’s safe, where he took more than $900 in jewelry, according to police. Though many of the items were returned, Delaney did allegedly sell some of the jewelry to a Holyoke precious metals store.

Delaney’s family told police he has a drug problem and they have to keep valuables locked in safes in the house to prevent him from taking them. Delaney’s other charges also relate to funds he allegedly stole from family members.

Delaney is due back in court on Wednesday for a pretrial hearing.
