BOSTON (AP) - Gov. Deval Patrick and operators of Boston's Logan International Airport are celebrating the launch of new nonstop service to Dubai by the Middle East's biggest airline.

Emirates Airline began the daily service between Boston and its home airport on Monday afternoon. The New England city is the eighth U.S. destination for the Gulf Arab carrier.

The Emirates flights will operate on 266-passenger Boeing 777 planes with three classes of service. Flights will depart Dubai daily at 9:45 a.m. and arrive at Boston at 3:15 p.m. Another flight will leave Boston at 10:55 p.m. and arrive in Dubai at 7:10 p.m. the next day.

The flights offer Boston travelers access to East Africa, India and Southeast Asia.

Logan now serves 36 overseas markets with non-stop service, up from 26 a decade ago.
