Massachusetts gas prices up another 7 cents per gallon

Posted

BOSTON >> The price of a gallon of gasoline in Massachusetts has jumped another 7 cents in the past week, yet remains well below the national average.

AAA Northeast said Monday that its weekly survey found self-serve, regular selling for an average of $1.86 per gallon.

Even though that is up 16 cents in two weeks, it's still 12 cents lower than the national average and 46 cents lower than the Bay State price a year ago.

AAA says the increases are being driven by higher crude oil prices as well as seasonal demand and maintenance at refineries.

AAA found gas selling as low as $1.73 and as high as $2.09.
