Massachusetts inmate gets 4 to 6 more years for stabbing

SALEM >> A Massachusetts man already serving two years behind bars on a burglary conviction has been sentenced to four to six more years in prison for stabbing a man.

The Salem News reports that 21-year-old Brock Fleming pleaded guilty Tuesday to three counts of armed assault to murder and three counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.

Prosecutors say Fleming stabbed his victim in Salem in June after doing drugs with the man and a woman.

Investigators said the stabbing was unprovoked. Fleming said the victim punched him and tried to rob him first.

Following a two-hour manhunt, police say Fleming pulled a knife on officers outside his home.

Police say Fleming was shot in the buttocks after charging the officers before he was apprehended.
