Massachusetts woman dies in NY crash

COPAKE, N.Y. (AP) -- A Massachusetts woman was killed on Tuesday after her car crossed the center line and crashed head-on into a vehicle driven by a teenager heading to school, police said.

The accident happened around 8 a.m. Tuesday on Route 23 in the town of Copake, not far from Taconic Hills High School. Columbia County Sheriff David Harrison said it's not clear why the 28-year-old woman crossed into the path of the car carrying two teens on their way to the school.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her name was withheld pending notification of relatives.

The teens, age 15 and 17, were taken to Albany Medical Center with injuries not considered life-threatening.
