MCLA baseball drops 10th straight game; Williams women’s LAX wins in OT


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Union College’s baseball team handed visiting MCLA its third straight shutout loss, as the Dutchmen beat the Trailblazers 11-0 on Tuesday.

MCLA (2-12) managed just five hits, dropping its 10th straight game. Matt Clark took the loss on the hill, allowing five earned runs on seven hits in 4 1/3 innings.

MCLA plays at Trinity today at 3:30 p.m.

Williams men’s lacrosse

NORTH ADAMS -- Hamilton’s four-goal surge in the third quarter was too much for the Ephs to overcome in a 9-6 loss at MCLA.

Six different players scored for Williams (6-5, 4-3 NESCAC), who outshot Hamilton 35-27.

Williams women’s lacrosse

CLINTON, N.Y. -- The Ephs won their eighth straight game, getting a game-winning goal from Bridget Malicki in overtime to beat Hamilton 9-8.

Rebecca McGovern had three goals and an assist for the Ephs (10-1, 6-1 NESCAC), who are ranked 10th in the latest Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Association rankings. Ali Piltch made two saves, both in the second half, for Williams, which rallied from a 5-3 halftime deficit.
