MCLA gives the ‘all clear' after reports of bomb threat

NORTH ADAMS -- Police have given the "all clear" around 6:30 Thursday night following reports of a bomb threat at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts that forced the evacuation of students and staff, the college has announced.

Police and MCLA campus security had swept the buildings, while students at the nearby North Adams Armory awaited word they could return.

MCLA said the bomb threat was made earlier this afternoon. No reports of an arrest or a suspect was immediately announced.

MCLA reminded students that suspicious people or activity should be reported to campus police at (413) 662-5284.
