Miss Hall's basketball falls in NEPSAC tournament

Miss Hall's School's basketball season came to an end Wednesday, as the Hurricanes fell 51-31 to Beaver Country Day in the NEPSAC Class C quarterfinals.

Freshman Grace Guachione led Miss Hall's (14-7) with 23 points and seven rebounds, with Tiana Dyson adding seven boards and Sarah Willson pulling down five more.

BCD's defensive pressure, though, wore on the Hurricanes.

"They have three pretty solid guards," Miss Hall's coach Matt Ward said. "Their defensive pressure was tougher than anything we've seen all season.

"We attacked them a little bit. [They] made it tough to get inside ... and that got us out of our game a little bit."

Guachione, Ward said, used her confidence to her advantage on offense for Miss Hall's.

"That was huge today," the coach said. "We did a pretty good job setting screens, but she was really able to create her own shot well."
