Moments House looking for a new home

PITTSFIELD >> As much as the officials and staff love the Moments House space in which they work, they are looking for a new home.

"We've talked with a few Realtors," said co-founder Alice Trumbull. "There are a few problems with our site."

The 3,600-square-foot area is located at 34 Depot St., on the third floor above the former Baba Louie's restaurant.

The problem, according to Trumbull, is that while the third floor is accessible by elevator, the room itself is sunken, and accessible by steps only.

"So when we have someone in a wheelchair, they can't get down the stairs," she said.

In addition, although there are six dedicated parking spaces for Moments House near the building, they are often taken by other motorists.

"Parking is a nightmare," she said.

The nonprofit organization may be able to use something less than 3,600 square feet, said Trumbull. But any property owners in Pittsfield can contact her at 413-443-6800.
