Monterey: Bidwell House to host Colonial Thanksgiving party

Monday November 19, 2012

The 1750s Georgian Saltbox residence of the Rev. Adonijah Bidwell will be decked out in harvest decorations for the Bidwell House Museum's sixth annual fall fundraising party, "Our Colonial Holiday of Thanksgiving," from 4 to 7 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 24.

Luminaires and lanterns will light the way to the historic home for a holiday get-together in Bidwell's own parlors. David Reed will play acoustic guitar, banjos and more, presenting his special blend of folk and country blues.

The silent auction will feature antiques, gifts and other treasures. Cider, wine, hors d'oeuvres and a colonial cocktail will be served.

All proceeds from the party support the museum, its programs, maintenance of the historic structures, and the preservation of its open space.

Tickets to the party are $40. For reservations, call (413) 528-6888.

The Bidwell House Museum is located at 100 Art School Road.
