Monterey: Sculptor, age 99, to exhibit at Knox Gallery

Posted

"Perceptions in Clay: Sculptures of Marjorie Heller Miner" will be exhibited at the Monterey Library's Knox Gallery, 452 Main Road, from Feb. 5 to March 5.

An opening reception will take place from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 5.

Miner, a few months shy of her 100th birthday, began sculpting in her late 60s. She is a longtime summer resident of Monterey.

In 2013, New Haven Magazine described her as "Grandma Moses of Clay." She won second prize for one of her sculptures in an all-Connecticut Senior Juried Art Show in 2015.
