WILLIAMSTOWN -- Jeff Spratt’s low score of 43 led the way for Monument Mountain’s golf team in a season-opening 177-203 win over Mount Greylock on Friday.

Owen Hunter added a 44 for the Spartans on the par-36 course at Waubeeka Golf Links.

Sophomore Mike Strizzi led Greylock with a 46.

"We’re really young," Mounties coach Luke Polidoro said. "Some of these guys, I would say three or four of them, it’s their first match. I expect it will get considerably better as the year goes along. We’re learning how to play in a competition."

MONUMENT (177): Jeff Spratt 43, T.J. Shumsky 45, Owen Hunter 44, Christian Callahan 46, Dan Meandro 45, Olivia Grochmal 56.

GREYLOCK (203): Aaron St. Martin 52, Matt Wiseman 52, Mike Strizzi 46, Steve Jayko 53, Josh Jezouit 60, Kyle Schwartzer 63.

Birdies: Monument -- Spratt (No. 2).
