Mother, shelter made a great team
This letter is dedicated to the staff and volunteers at the Berkshire Humane Society.
After the passing of my mother, Beverly Trowill, John Perrault, director of the shelter, gave the most wonderful presentation of her past at the funeral home. The reaction of the 165 mourners brought tears as well as laughter.
Then the shelter staff opened the building to family and friends of Bev to share stories and to walk around one of her favorite places on earth. This was a building and cause that she was very proud to help make a success.
My mom was very proud to be a part of the shelter, and very proud of John, the staff, and the volunteers. Together they have made themselves one of the most successful non-profit organizations in Berkshire County and one of the finest shelters in the country -- and all due to their teamwork.
Bev will be missed by all whom she came to know, due to her sparkling personality and willingness to help other humans and animals.
I am writing this letter to give John and the staff a sincere "thank you" for all of the support and assistance they gave to my mother throughout the 20 years in which she was involved with the shelter.
