DALTON — A Vermont man was seriously injured Monday when his motorcycle collided with a car that had turned into his lane, police said.

John Barett, 42, of Pownal, Vt., was traveling west on Main Street about 2:15 p.m. Monday when the 2015 BMW motorcycle he was driving collided with a vehicle driven by Alice Larkin, 32, of Dalton, said Dalton Police Chief Jeffrey Coe.

Larkin, who was attempting to turn onto Park Avenue, was cited for failure to yield to oncoming traffic, Coe said.

Bartlett was transported to Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield with serious injuries. His condition could not be determined.

Larkin suffered minor injuries and refused medical treatment, Coe said.
