Mounties run past Generals

Wednesday April 25, 2012

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Mount Greylock's boys lacrosse team shut out Pittsfield in the second quarter on Tuesday, scoring nine times in the period on the way to a 17-7 win.

Both teams were unbeaten in the county but the Generals struggled after ending the first quarter trailing by a goal. Ethan Ryan had three of his four goals in the second quarter while Kent Hanson and Noah Kelley added two each.

Pittsfield tried to rally in the second half, getting three goals from Brady Aitken, but the deficit was too much. Greylock kept its cushion by scoring five goals in the third, including two from Brett McCormack.

Noah Tullock made eight saves for the Generals while Pat Malloy stopped seven for the Mounties.
