New Lebanon, N.Y.: Library announces ‘food for fines’ week

The New Lebanon Library will exchange food for fines during the week of Nov. 12 to 17.

Library patrons can have their records cleared of fines for overdue materials, regardless of amount, at a rate of one fine for one returned food item donated. Only overdue items, not lost or damaged items, are eligible.

Unopened and unexpired cans, jars, boxed, and packaged foods are welcome. Perishable items cannot be accepted.

All food donations will be forwarded to Charlie’s Pantry for distribution to needy families in and around New Lebanon.
