New Marlborough: ‘Portals’ exhibition to open July 25

Posted

"Portals," an exhibition exploring literal and metaphorical doorways, will open from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the Meeting House Gallery located in an historical church building on Route 57.

On view through Aug. 24, the exhibition will showcase works by 29 invited local artists exploring the theme of doorways offering movement from one condition to another.

Using a broad variety of media, the artists deliver individual interpretations of the theme with works ranging from evocative photos of unusual doorways to fabric collages to small shrapnel sculpture.

Gallery hours are 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays or by appointment; call Elizabeth at (413) 229-8972. Information: www.newmarlborough.org.
