New Marlborough: Meeting House Gallery announces summer exhibitions

The Meeting House Gallery has announced its summer exhibition schedule, which will include three shows featuring work of local artists.

The gallery will inaugurate the 2014 season with "Wood-Metal-Stone," which will open Saturday, June 14, with the opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 13. The exhibit will showcase 11 artists working on a large and small scale who will combine their expertise to create an exhibition using wood, metal and stone.

"Portals," on view from July 26 to Aug. 24, will be a mixed media theme show moving between literal images of doorways and the depiction of more psychological passages. Works by the 29 included artists will showcase a variety of media ranging from painting and photography to fabric and even the use of shrapnel as a sculptural medium.

The closing exhibition, "New Marlborough Artists," featuring the works of eight local artists, will be on view from Aug. 30 through Sept. 28.

The gallery is located at 154 Hartsville-New Marlborough Road.
