No injuries reported in pair of car accidents Tuesday in Pittsfield

PITTSFIELD -- No injuries were reported in a pair of car accidents Tuesday.

The first happened at William Street around 4:30 p.m., when a driver hit a utility pole, a dispatcher said. He said the transformer had been knocked down.

Western Massachusetts Electric Company responded and were on the scene for about four hours to check the pole's stability and restore the transformer.

A two-car accident took place at Center and West Housatonic streets just after 5:40 p.m. Neither car was towed.
