No one has right to end a life
I would like to respond to Patricia Spaniol’s letter of Feb. 5, "Spare women abortion lectures."
First, my heart goes out to any woman who has been raped. You’re right, I don’t understand what she is going through. I am not writing to condemn anyone who has had an abortion.
Second, I do want to say that no one has a right to end a life. The only one who has the power to give or take a life is God and God alone. That is not or should be our option.
Something else that disturbs me about abortion is that it’s not only for rape anymore, but is done up to nine months in a procedure called partial birth abortion. It’s horrific.
Having said this, I want you to know that there is forgiveness and such freedom in Christ Jesus because of what He did on the cross for each of us. No matter where we find ourselves; abortion, drugs, alcohol, loneliness and so on.
The Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." In 1 John 1:9, it is said "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness." Know the love, the joy, the peace that only Christ Jesus can give by asking Him into our hearts and lives.
