No opposition and several seats open in Hancock


HANCOCK -- Monday's election features no opposition for all the candidates, and some openings without any candidates registered.

The only opening on the Select Board is being sought by incumbent Sherman L. Derby Sr.

Thomas Trimarchi is running for the only open seat on the School Committee.

Matthew Clairmont is running for a three-year term on the Board of Health.

A three-year seat on the library board of trustees is being sought by Marvel Monette.

Brian Fairbank is running for another one-year term as town moderator.

Donald Cassavaugh is seeking a three-year term on the Cemetery Commission, with no candidates registered for two other spots on the cemetery commission.

Patricia Herrick and Sherman L. Derby Sr. are running for two open seats on the Planning Board.

Joe Riesz is seeking a three-year term as town assessor.

Voters can cast ballots from noon to 8 p.m. at Hancock Elementary School, 3080 Hancock Road.
