Nordic skiing: Greylock teams sweep wins at Berkshire East

CHARLEMONT -- Mount Greylock's Nordic ski teams swept the wins at Berkshire East on Monday.

Jake Foehl won the boys' race, and Grace Smith took the girls' race as Greylock's teams ended up on top of both the boys and girls standings.

Results were unofficial as of late Monday night, as the coaches had yet to verify them.

Unofficially, Foehl's time of 16 minutes, 56 seconds gave him the win over teammate Will Nolan (17:11). Greylock took the top six boys spots. That allowed the Mounties (10 points) to roll to a team win over Amherst (65) and Mohawk (76).

Lenox's Matas Rudzinskas (ninth) and Wahconah's Curran Doyle (10th) were the other top county finishers on the boys side.

Greylock's girls took five of the top 10 spots, with Smith's 19:30 leading the way. Sophie Gerry was fourth, Christina Butcher was sixth, Ellie Williams was ninth and Zavi Sheldon was 10th. Greylock's girls finished with 20 team points, ahead of Amherst (49).

Lenox's Josie Marshall was third (20:06), with teammate Alice Huth eighth (22:52).
