North Adams: Author kicks off MCLA's fall lectures

Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts will welcome award-winning author Jana Laiz, who will discuss her book, "Weeping under This Same Moon," at the college's First Year Experience Community Reading event, to be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 5, in the MCLA Church Street Center's Eleanor Furst Roberts Auditorium.

MCLA's annual fall lectures are free and open to the public. Seating for this FYE Community Reading event will be limited. After the lecture, Laiz will sign copies of her book.

Upcoming fall lecturers include Emmy Award-winner Byron Pitts, co-anchor of ABC's "Nightline," on Oct. 18; Joanna Ballantine, vice president of Trustees of Reservations for the western region, on Oct. 26; and Jeffrey Toobin, senior analyst for CNN and staff writer for The New Yorker, on Nov. 16.
