North Adams: Bishop Fisher to visit All Saints' Church

Posted

Bishop Doug Fisher will preach and preside at the Eucharist at All Saints' Episcopal Church at 9:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 13.

The bishop visits each one of the 60+ congregations in the Episcopal Diocese of Western Massachusetts in a two-year cycle.

The Rt. Rev. Douglas John Fisher is the ninth bishop of the diocese. He was consecrated Dec. 1, 2012.

Fisher will be formally welcomed by the Rev. Mary Frances Curns, priest-in-charge of All Saints'.

During the Eucharist, three members will be confirmed, three will reaffirm their faith and one will be welcomed into the Episcopal Church from another tradition.

After the celebration of the Eucharist, Fisher will have time to informally greet the members of the parish at the typical Sunday social called the "Coffee Hour."

In addition to the interpersonal blessings of the visitation, the vestry or parish council will gather with the bishop privately to discuss plans, issues and hopes.
