North Adams: Bowling tournament to benefit infant diagnosed with leukemia

A bowling tournament to benefit Carrick Wood will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 16, at Greylock Bowl and Golf, 41 Roberts Drive.

Shortly after birth on July 4, Carrick, the infant son of Pat and Crista Wood, was rushed to Albany Medical Center where he was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia.

Carrick and his parents have since relocated to Boston Children's Hospital where he is undergoing an aggressive chemotherapy treatment.

Proceeds from the fundraiser will help defray the family's growing expenses including housing, travel, food, bills, and medical costs.

Entry in the tournament is $60 per four person team with three games, 100 percent handicap, and 10 pin tap. Children are welcome.

The fundraiser will also include a Chinese auction, silent auction, 50/50 raffle, bake sale, and a band.

For more information or to donate auction items, contact Brandon Horn at (413) 464-4799.
