North Adams: Culture Festival for families slated Saturday

"The Culture Festival: Our Big World" will be held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, at the Haskins Center Gym, 210 State St.

The Culture Festival will feature a variety of stations for the children to "travel around the world" and learn about cultures of other countries.

Children will receive a play passport that will get stamped at each station. Some of the countries and cultures that will be represented are Hawaii, Great Britain. Filipino, Jewish, Spanish and Central African Republic.

Stations will feature flag making and paper chains to represent different countries and unity.

The festival will close with a circle time featuring songs, stories and multi-cultural snacks such as mangoes, tea and crumpets, and Hawaiian sweet bread.
